Ballet at MHDC is based off the Vaganova (Russian) syllabus, however students will also become familiar with the other schools and styles of ballet throughout their training.
Being that ballet dance is a core subject in all dance training, students will be educated and challenged to continually grow and develop their technique. Ballet training will also work on providing grace, strength, poise, balance and flexibility which will help improve students’ training in other subjects and activities. At an advanced level, ballet students may have the opportunity to go on pointe and have more opportunities to study the unique and beautiful style of ballet performance.
We believe that MHDC ballet students need to have a strong, technical foundation, but also need a place to love and nurture their “inner ballerina”!!
Dress Code:
Black leotard, pink tights, pink split sole ballet shoes‐Intermediate
through Advanced and any team classes should have canvas. Note: if you have
another class on the same day you can wear pink tights to the other
classes. But, you must have pink tights on in ballet. Hair must be in a
bun.
Other fees:
$40 registration fee (includes HD video download link of all 3 recital shows!)
$65 recital costume deposit *Note: Some Int/Adv ballet tech classes do not participate in recital. Please check in the office to see if the class you’d like to join will perform.
